Dreamwidth Starter Kit
This is supposed to be more useful than anything. There is another link of links of things, but it was made/updated back in 2010-2011, so consider this an updated version.
I'll try to put this in an order that is more functional and useful than simply topical. Also not going to link to other posts of assorted links here - except for links to posts that compile different communities, for community purposes. Recommendations to other tutorials and handholds are appreciated as long as they're hosted on either DW or Tumblr.
And of course you're not required to read everything on this list - just whatever looks relevant to you for now. I think they're all useful to read at some point, though.
Please let me know if any of these entries are outdated or no longer of relevant use. I haven't had a chance to go through and try everything out yet.
There is also the site-official tutorial that is specifically directed for ex/long-time LJ users, which may be outdated in some places, but you should take a look at it anyway.

IN-SITE LINKS TO GET COMFORTABLE
Dreamwidth staff is very useful and handholding to people who are used to LiveJournal and/or migrating from there on the regular. I suggest for you to take advantage of that! They are also very transparent with their site purpose and business, which is always assuring. There is also the site-official tutorial that is specifically directed for ex/long-time LJ users, which may be outdated in some places, but you should take a look at it anyway.
- /latest - Displays all the most recent public posts site-wide on any comm/journal. Addictive. Can easily find something new here.
